1997 Bicentennial Elm ProjectAmerican Liberty Elms from the Elm Research Institute in Harrisville, NH, located throughout the Town of Orleans History of the Trees: Warren Quinn drove to NH to pick up the 11 trees (10 purchased and 1 complimentary). Paul Fulcher, with some nursery participation, took care of planting. Jeff Larson, motivated the Orleans Builders to provide the circular bench at Eldredge Small Park. A seedling project at the Elementary School, including Citizens Bank, was also significant. There was an Arbor Day ceremony, attended by more than 25 people including the Selectman, and press coverage. Photos of the 11 trees, now thriving in Orleans for 12 years, can be viewed below, along with their locations.
